Mana's Multiply
This is a nice one from Nice Up records. Jamie Lidell's smasher "Multiply" in a reggae style. I love the groove and the scatches in the middle. If you like The Dynamics, J*star or just good music than listen to this one . Check out Nice Ups MySpace for more: http://www.myspace.com/niceuprecords

THE FUTUREHEADS vs MORILLO - dance about it later (andy styler rmx)
This is my absolute favorite club-banger for some time now. I was lucky to find a test pressing of it on juno some month ago (and been playing it since everytime i deejayed). And i'm waiting for a proper release since, which somehow is not happening. Andy Styler produced this tune. I checked his myspace and after listening to his cheesy other stuff it looks like he had a sole very bright moment, when he produced this remix (a moment that unfortunately never returned...). It is an illegal remix of a remix, which is very 2007 to me... He added an extra rave-punch to Switch's remix of the Futureheads song. I already liked the original switch mix, but what you get now is a real bomb... Apparently (as the title suggests) there must be some Eric Morillo in it, too, which i do not find or care about, to be honest... This is guaranteed to make any good electro- or nu-ravecrowd go mad! enjoy

REPUBLIC OF LOOSE - comeback girl
this is my favorite song and my favorite band of the moment. They're from Dublin and just released their second album "Aaaagh!", which sounds like a mix of Outkast, Stones, Beck and Hall&Oates. It's simply brilliant and totally unique. And after watching the video i think i want to meet the two guys personally. They are also part of the "Butterfly collector - mix" i posted some time ago.

LES RHYTHMES DIGITALES - hey you whats that sound (JLC remix version)
Just found this ace remix JLC did for his own track on the 12 Inch b-side. What else can you say about Stuart Price? For me he is one of the two most influencial pop musicians of recent times (the other is Damon Albarn). On his album "Darkdancer" in 1998 he already took a trip into the eighties, and that was years before people all over the world discovered that the eighties were cool. The album features the Whirlpool Production cover "from disco to disco", the recently commercialised "Jacques Your Body" and Nik Kershaw on guest vocals. And the sprayed cover graphics are miles ahead of the time, too (remember in the 90s you could be stoned to death for only mentioning the eighties). With his alter egos (Thin White Duke, Zoot Woman, Paper Faces etc..) he is constantly releasing only highest quality music and remixes. It is no surprise that Madonna bought his production talents for her music. he just turned 30, so i wonder what he is up to next...
IN FLAGRANTI - emotional R (in flagranti edit)
the discofied "emotional rescue" always was my favorite song of the Rolling Stones. the sampledelic guys from IN FLAGRANTI speed it up, cut the boring parts, loop the rest and here it is: the dance version, i always waited for. Actually there is something else coming in late in the song, which made my mind blow away. Genius... i won't tell you...listen! IN FLAGRANTI released tons of discofied electro 12 Inches on Codek and Mindless Boogie and a really great album called "wronger than anyone else". Alex Gloor (one of the two guys) does the truely amazing graphics for them and used to be in a band called FAMILY OF GOD, which we released on Bungalow ages ago. There is lots more to discover on the IN FLAGRANTI planet. Go to Youtube and watch all their amazing selfmade videos, which they did exactly the same way, like they produce music. Cut and loop softporn movies and other weird films of the late seventies. This song is available on 12 Inch on Mindless Boogie and there are two other crazy tunes on it. Get it!

DAVID E. SUGAR - Chelsea girls
love this electrofunk-pop track from upcoming british talent DAVID E SUGAR. He looks a bit like Mika, he sounds a bit like Calvin Harris. Stardom guaranteed! Get it on 12 Inch...
SUPERTHRILLER - hairdresser
these guys just released their new smashing album "superthriller 2", which is actually their third album. "Superthriller 1" already was great with its two small underground hits "ahjustwannadance" and "I'm gonna ask to leave at three, so call me", but 2005 (before Radiohead tested the internet (and their fans) with their new album) Superthriller had a revolutionary idea to release "the blank album". For a low prize you could buy an empty CDR with cover and artwork. With a personal code you could choose and download 23 tracks (from 40 tracks) in the internet and burn it on your CDR.
Most famous fan (besides me and Shir Khan..haha) is Beck who invited them on their complete european tour recently. "Superthriller 2 " is their best album up to date, their sound is somewhere between electro, funk, soul and dirty pop... like Prince jamming with Beck...sort of. Love it!

KNIGHTLIFE - ambopop
these guys come from Australia, like so many good electro acts recently. "ambopop" is a slice of strong noisy electro in a Justice way. The 12" is absolutely worth the money, because the b-side "all systems" is amazing and a bit more funky, too. Watch these guys!

SONNY J - can't stop moving (Young Punx rmx)
you already heard the original (or watched the video...below). But now the Young Punx turn the funky disco track into a piano-lead electromonster. Imagine Technotronic meeting Soulwax... and you're not halfway there. This one really makes dancefloors shake!

SEVENTEEN EVERGREEN - Music is the wine (joakim remix)
this is a slow builder. it takes 8 minutes to really get going and ends up in a synth-mess. But it's worth to listen to the way it builds up. Absolutely fascinating. electro-disco at it's best. we all know that Joakim is a maestro and has magic fingers (his remix for Clor's "Magic Touch" is one of the best remixes i ever heard), but this also made me discover the band Seventeen Evergreen from California. They have a brilliant psychedelic pop album out now, that is part Flaming Lips, part Beatles... enjoy, your supermarkt

Holy Hail live@Berlin Hilton/NBI
yes.....actually we have 2 parties on the wednesday....so if you have a low pocket here is the option for people who are broke (only 3 Euro entry! Top that)....after MARIA the party still goes on here:
7.11. - 23.00 - NBI - BERLIN HILTON - Schoenhauser Allee 36 - Berlin
Holy Hail (New York/Adventures Close to Home) //// LIVE
+ DJ Gorky (Bonde do Rolê) versus DJ Shir Khan
@ berlin hilton THIS WEDNESDAY
On November 07th, our berlin hilton guests will experience quite a bit of action on Prenzlauer Berg soil. We have an explosive set of guests: a live act with the New York band HOLY HAIL and a DJ battle between two dadaist-party-makers: on one side GORKY, born in Rio de Janeiro, living in Curitiba and frequent guest of every joint on the planet these days, constantly touring with his band Bonde do Rolê, and on the other side the Berlin party monster SHIR KHAN.
HOLY HAIL : NY residents Cat, Michally, Kevin and Alex are a wonderfully mixed bunch; together they create a sound that draws on the honky tonk, the old school, and southern gothic and bring politically charged lyrics to the dance party. Influenced by The Fall, New Order, Fleetwood Mac, The Gossip, The Band, Nas, Leadbelly, June and Johnny, spirituals, southern soul, westward expansion, easterly winds, northern lights and gypsies. They have toured and collaborated with the likes of New Young Pony Club, The Rapture and Bonde do Role, and played everywhere. Time for fun at berlin hilton, we say.
GORKY is the music head behind Bonde do Rolê,
and if you dont know who SHIR KHAN is, you cant possibly be going to parties much in the past decade. He has remixed Bonde do Role and Holy Hail!
Holy Hail (New York) //// LIVE
+ DJ Gorky (Bonde do Rolê) versus DJ Shir Khan (Exploited)
@ berlin hilton on November 7th
MELTKLUB with SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO & berlin battery djs
ola amigos,
in case you are in berlin on wednesday, you should check out the fantastic line-up of the MELTKLUB party at MARIA club. It's SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO (live), PACIFIC! (moshi moshi, Live) and your berlin battery djs like Shir Khan & Dj Supermarkt plus Gorky (from Bonde Do Role, Brasil). What more do you need?
....... and Pablo (Nitsa/Nasti Club/Primavera, Barcelona/Madrid) will be in the audience. Some of you know what this means...

SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO - hustler (2007 version)
this is already the second video for "hustler". I already liked the first one, but this is fascianting and...really bizarre! It starts really conventional with models dancing etc... but ends up in a disturbing, blood vomiting Aphex Twin style finish. Be aware...
Sonny J - can't stop moving
this is fun. And it's 2007. sounds like The Avalanches and Junior Senior playing The Jackson Five. Retro-Disco-Dancing included! summer's back

Jack Tennis vs. Leila K. - Check The Dan
This is the return of the 90's in a 2007 outfit! Do you remember Leila K. and all her hits like "Open Sesame" or the Plastic Bertand cover "Ca plane pour moi"? This is a remake of "Check the dan" originally released on her 1993 album "Carousel". Have fun with this electro-ska booty, it will burn your disco down.
If you wonder what Leila did after her career in the 90's read her tragic story on wikipedia: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leila_K. (sorry: only in german)
I wish you all the best Leila!!!
